This training package will give employers the confidence that the employees have an up to date knowledge and the necessary skills required to choose the correct abrasives and fit them safely. The full day program will encompass hand tool safety required by the employer to meet their specific operational health and safety requirements.
What you'll learn / gain skills in
During the session employees will be introduced to the need for abrasive wheel training and statutory requirements, British standard marking system, hazards and precautions, correct PPE, storage, handling and transportation, inspection of abrasive wheels, function of machine components, mounting, dressing and balancing, pre-shift checks and advisory literature. Following this the hand tool training will cover the safety required to use the equipment safely.
No formal entry requirements. However, all students will complete a short initial assessment on literacy & numeracy. Students must also provide eligibility evidence to meet European Social Funding regulations, including:
- Employment status
- National Insurance number
Additionally, to be eligible for this course you must:
Live in OR work in OR be seeking to grow your business within the Northumberland, Tyne and Wear or County Durham areas.
