Overview

Our one day fire warden course will equip you for the role of fire warden in an organisation. It will increase your knowledge of fire safety and give you a greater understanding of fire behaviour and the roles and responsibilities expected of the fire warden. The course content includes:

  • The Role of the fire warden & relevant legislation
  • Fire hazards & prevention
  • Fire Protection
  • Evacuation
  • Combustion, growth and spread of fire
  • Extinguishing fire including a practical extinguisher session

What you'll learn / gain skills in

Learners will be able to:

  • Take responsibility for fire safety in their workplace or designated area
  • Evacuate everybody to a place of safety
  • Assess and extinguish a fire if safe to do so

 

Entry Requirements

A basic knowledge of fire safety would be beneficial.  All students will complete a short initial assessment on literacy & numeracy. Students must also provide eligibility evidence to meet European Social Funding regulations, including:

  • Employment status
  • DOB
  • Residency
  • National Insurance number

The course can be attended by both the employed and unemployed.
