This qualification is aimed at individuals who are interested in working within the logistics sector, in particular within a warehousing environment. The qualification covers the underpinning knowledge requirements to be able to store and receive goods appropriately, as well as exploring how to process and dispatch orders. The principles of effective customer service as well as an understanding of key health and safety legislation are also essential elements of this qualification.
The course is 3 days in duration and held at the Gateshead College's SASMI Campus, Washington Road, Sunderland, SR5 3HE
What you'll learn / gain skills in
This course enables students to acquire essential knowledge and understanding of the meaning, benefits, and importance of having an organised warehousing environment, in order to enable an efficient logistical operation benefiting warehouse and logistics staff and indeed the end customer.
Students will also gain an accredited certificate in Warehouse & Storage Principles Level 2.
No formal entry requirements. However, all students will complete a short initial assessment on literacy & numeracy. Students must also provide eligibility evidence to meet European Social Funding regulations, including:
- Employment status
- National Insurance number
Additionally, to be eligible for this course you must:
Live in OR work in OR be seeking to grow your business within the Northumberland, Tyne and Wear or County Durham areas.
The course can be attended by both the employed and unemployed.
